Psalm 139:7-10
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me.
Even there.
No matter where we find ourselves, God can find us.
If we ascend into heaven...taking the wings of the dawn... These are the times when it's easy to become caught up in worship, when you are moving from glory to glory, everything is going right and you are enjoying a “mountain top” season. Even then, God is there, laying hold of you. Leading you. Because even in the good times, we need to know that God is right beside us, filling us with His Spirit and directing our steps into His purposes
If we make our bed in the place of the dead... drowning deep in the remotest parts of the ocean... These are the times you find yourself sinking in depression, walking in confusion, stewing in anger, beating yourself up in regret. Even then, He is there, laying hold of you. Because in the hard times, the dark times, we need to know that God is walking with us, holding the broken, confused pieces of our hearts in His tender hands and filling us with healing and hope.
To “lay hold of” means to grasp. The idea is of one grasping a ball out of the air.
No matter where you find yourself today, God will catch you. He is there.
Living in the shadow of betrayal?
Choosing which path to take?
Feeling forgotten, unnoticed, ignored?
Entering into a season of favor?
On the shelf in ministry?
Thinking your needs aren't important to a busy God?
Even there.
No matter where you find yourself, God can find you. He is trustworthy, and His faithfulness can be found in every season. Even the one you're in.
